The blog hasn't had to much lovin lately, so it needed a little update! The first painting is a demo I did for Wacom booth at Sigraph this year, I was hoping on having a time laps video for it but unfortunately it was lost in the shuffle. I'm also teaching again this year for CGMA so if your interested in the class, open registration starts Sept 18th at www.cgma2dacademy.com

Hey everyone! sorry for this shameful plugin but after nearly a year of not teaching, I’ll be teaching an online class on digital painting (special thanks to Derek Kosolo for handling the class while I was away) but yah! If anyone is interested, enrollment just opened up! Time to fire up the old espresso machine !

This was for a short film I was thinking about making, although in it's current state it's way to ambitious and needs a lot of grooming. It was a ton of fun to design, esp when you are designing for yourself. Basically it's a story about a failing family taxidermy shop, that specialize in rare oddities and monsters.
That is the wonderful thing about being an artist, we are never short on story's that we want to tell. Hope you enjoy!

Whew! I can finally post this since CTN is over. The animation guild asked if I would be interested, in submitting a piece for their calendar with their new logo design. Had a lot of fun designing and painting this–happy holidays everyone! Looking forward to some home cooked turkey!
CTN was a blast! I want to say thanks to everyone who participated in the portfolio review with me and the amazing Bill Perkins. I’m also terribly sorry to everyone who was checking out the color key demo (Pinocchio designed in Polynesian theme) when the computer gave me the blue screen of death midway through uggg. I decided to time myself with the 35min that was allowed, and this was pretty much where I was taking the painting. The first part is always the same- hope you guys enjoyed it and if you have any questions feel free to ask.
